Medicover acquires major Polish healthcare provider – Nasz Lekarz

We are proud to announce that Medicover has completed the acquisition of the clinical trial activity of Nasz Lekarz (Our Doctor), one of the leading clinical research centres located in Poland.

This is a joint transaction by the two divisions – Diagnostic Services and Healthcare Services – as Medicover also signed an agreement to acquire the local outpatient clinics operated by Nasz Lekarz. The transaction includes a modern 2,000-sqm real estate as well.

Nasz Lekarz

Nasz Lekarz is the largest clinical research centre in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship. In 20 years of research, the company has participated in more than 600 Phase I to IV clinical trials. In parallel, the entities offer innovative biological treatments for rheumatological, dermatological, gastroenterological and pulmonological diseases.

Nasz Lekarz represents a synergistic investment for both Medicover’s divisions. Diagnostic Services will benefit from the strong clinic’s network, enabling growth in the strategic areas of trial management and patient recruitment, while Healthcare Services will strengthen Medicover’s standardised quality medical care in the Polish healthcare services market.

– The acquisition is pivotal to Medicover’s strategy in growing the Diagnostic Services’ clinical trials business. We are in a great position to expand our global partnerships in the life science industry, including the Nasz Lekarz talent, expertise and regional infrastructure for clinical lab services, patient management and companion diagnostics. We are one step further on our path to becoming a one-stop-shop partner for life science companies and clinical research organizations, supporting them to bring innovative therapies and diagnostics to the market, says Staffan Ternstrom, COO Diagnostic Services.

Nasz Lekarz outpatient clinic has been operating for 20 years, serving approximately 15,000 patients. An experienced team of doctors and nurses (a crew of more than 100) provides medical care as part of primary healthcare and specialist outpatient care via 36 dispensaries and 20 laboratories.

The investment will allow Healthcare Services to mark Medicover’s strong presence in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.
