More on this topic:

We are pleased to announce an important milestone in Medicover’s growth journey. Medicover has acquired SYNLAB Group’s local businesses in Romania, Turkey, Cyprus, Slovenia, Croatia and North Macedonia – expanding our presence in the region and entering three new markets.

Medicover Integrated Clinical Services (MICS)

The acquisition includes 25 laboratories and 80 blood-drawing points (BDPs), supported by approximately 675 skilled professionals. These facilities provide essential routine and advanced testing services to the general public, specialist doctors, and hospitals.

This acquisition strengthens our services and helps us streamline operations by integrating advanced testing across our network. It also allows us to improve efficiency in all markets through centralized testing and better procurement.

“This acquisition will be strongly synergistic in Romania and Turkey, while expanding our advanced testing distribution and reach in the entire region. In addition, the acquisition will enable increased operational efficiency and shift advanced tests to other laboratories within the Diagnostic Services network – reflecting our strategy to capture the full potential of our fee-for-service model. I am very happy to be able to welcome the employees of SYNLAB into the Medicover family,” says Fredrik Ragmark, CEO.

“With this expansion, we solidify our leadership in Central and Eastern Europe, enhance patient services and unlock new growth opportunities. Our current priority is seamless integration, building a strong foundation for collaboration, and delivering top-quality diagnostics. At the same time, we ensure business continuity and plan for future investments and development.,” says Staffan Ternström, COO Diagnostic Services.

We look forward to a smooth transition and successful collaboration with our new colleagues as they join the Medicover family.
